Chief Claims Officer
Steve Deane is The Hartford’s chief claims officer. In this role, he oversees the claims professionals who deliver exceptional customer claims experiences and outcomes across the company's Property & Casualty and Employee Benefits businesses.
In his prior role, Deane served as executive vice president and chief claims officer for Global Risk Solutions, North America at Liberty Mutual. Before that, he spent 16 years at The Hartford in a variety of leadership roles in the Claims organization and the Law department.
Prior to joining The Hartford, he worked at the law firm Robinson & Cole, where he was a litigation associate in their Commercial Litigation and Insurance Litigation practices.
He currently serves on the board of directors for Connecticut Foodshare.
Deane holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.
