Head of Small Business
Chris Jones is head of Small Business at The Hartford. He is responsible for the strategic direction and financial results of the business, including oversight of product, underwriting, sales and marketing.
The Hartford is a long-time leader in small business insurance, protecting over 1 million customers through partnerships with independent agents and brokers. The Hartford’s Spectrum® Business Owner’s Policy combines general liability, business property and business-income insurance into one policy, offering real-time coverage recommendations tailored to the specific needs of small businesses. In addition, The Hartford protects small businesses with workers’ compensation, commercial auto, professional liability, data-breach insurance and excess & surplus (E&S) coverage.
Jones has been with The Hartford since 1994, holding field office management positions in Chicago, Dallas and other key markets as well as underwriting, sales, and product management roles in Middle & Large Business and Small Business.
Jones currently serves on the board of directors of the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) and on the board of governors for the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation.
He received his bachelor’s degree in management from Gettysburg College.
